One of the many reasons I started QueerWall was precisely because I was tired of just that. As a queer person, it's extremely exhausting to see every year how larger companies transform our identities and lives into a temporary marketing campaign in the form of mass-produced, rainbow-colored trinkets from which they can gain a small bonus.
As a small, queer business owner, I therefore think it is very important to create pride-themed art with heart, for the entire LGBTQIA+ community that truly reflects our reality.
For me, celebrating Pride is about supporting our own community as much as possible. The great thing about buying posters from my shop is that you're not throwing money away at a faceless, money-crazed corporation. You are directly supporting me as a creator and enabling me to continue illustrating, creating, and offering what I am passionate about. We are simply building each other's everyday lives.
